CHENGDU, CHINA—In an effort to collect more data on the industry of diagnostic imaging, Liming Wang, director of the Bureau of Consumer Goods Industry, and Haidong Wu, deputy director, visited AllTech Medical Systems’ research and development center for a closer look at the magnetic resonance market. Hailing from the State Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), the two dignitaries were also accompanied by Piguang Wu, deputy director of Sichuan Provincial Economic and Information Commission, and Zhonghui Zhang, deputy director of the commission’s Department of Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals. Director Wang and his company were greeted by AllTech president Ms. Cindy Jin.

First, Ms. Jin offered the research group an up-to-date report on the latest technology, product innovations, and other aspects of superconductive MR imaging. In response, Director Wang recognized AllTech’s achievements in the past as one of China’s leading pioneers in the industry, while encouraging the company to continue its expansion into overseas markets by fully exploiting its advantages in location and resources.

Director Wang and his company also enjoyed a demonstration of the EchoStar Centauri 1.5T system, which is the first one independently researched and developed in China. During this part of the tour, Ms. Jin noted that not only is there little difference between the quality of AllTech’s images and those of its competitors’ systems, but the price of AllTech’s product is also 30 percent lower than such imported products. Furthermore, AllTech offers relatively lower prices for its services, which cover nearly all the contents of the EchoStar system. In addition to ensuring the systems are more affordable, this one-stop service makes the EchoStar easier to maintain as well.

Director Wang expressed approval over the sight of numerous sets of MR equipment in the factory area, packaged and ready to be delivered to a People's Hospital in Henan province.

“AllTech has made important contributions to ongoing medical reform in China,” Director Wang said, “by making superconducting MR available to not only top hospitals [in cities] but also hospitals in towns and counties.”
